The following Toxic and Combustible Gas Charts include data that are used as guidelines for establishing health and safety standards for various gases and vapors. Information, including TLV/TWA, IDLH and LEL values are used by
ENMET to determine the appropriate range and alarm points for each gas. Relative Gas Densities are also given. Knowing the density of a gas or vapor, relative to air, is useful in deciding the best sampling location. It is important to know if the target gas will typically (excluding environmental factors of ventilation, wind, etc.) tend to rise, fall or mix uniformly in the area being monitored.
